Hi. I'm Rhoda
I am originally from Brooklyn, NY, and currently located in Burbank, California. I’m an American-Egyptian who designs products.
I’m a Researcher and Anthropologist. I hold a Master’s Degree in Anthropology and Human Computer Interaction. Most of my days are spent creating content for product design, building software, and posting on Design for [Everyone]. I hope you enjoy the articles. In my current job, I’m a User Experience (UX) Designer and Anthropologist, I provide solutions to complex design challenges with our customers in the tech-entertainment industry. I’m a product designer and user researcher based in Burbank, California, dubbed as the Media Capital of the World.
My daytime role focuses around working with artists and animators in the media-technology space to figure out the role of art production and creations using software. I collaborate with product development teams & build customer research with goals to enhance experience designs.
My role is to present product strategies, user insights based on testings, and analyze features and functionalities. I find the gaps between streaming content online versus cable TV providers fascinating!
Everyday, I’m writing, sketching, prototyping, presenting to clients, and interviewing customers to get the most out of our findings and help accelerate the product development process.
I’m originally from Brooklyn, New York, and have lived overseas with my parents and siblings in Egypt and called it home for seventeen years. I’m a traveler and I live to explore culture, cuisine, languages, food, art, world history, and design. I returned to my hometown in Brooklyn, New York, in 2011 right after the revolution took place and the step-down of the former Egyptian president.
Design, for me, is about inclusivity. The power of design is about engulfing easy user experiences around physical and digital products that surround our lives and everyday use.
The mission of Design for [Everyone] is to share streams of consciousness about technology and mindful learnings with the goal of staying present in a chaotic world governed by data.
My fascination to design products for nations and universal audiences around the globe grew while I was living abroad.
Creating this blog is a step-out of my comfort zone and I plan on sharing the process as openly as possible.
I’m happy to share client design projects upon requests. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy our content!
